Orestes Ramos Álvarez holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of La Laguna (2024) and a Master's degree in Biodiversity and Conservation Biology from Pablo de Olavide University, Seville (2025). Between July and December 2025, he was a recipient of the CSIC Youth Employment Programme, where he worked in science communication and outreach at the Canary Islands Oceanographic Centre (IEO-CSIC).
He is currently a Predoctoral Fellow funded by the Government of the Canary Islands (through the Ministry of Universities, Science, Innovation and Culture and ACIISI) at the Institute of Natural Products and Agrobiology (IPNA-CSIC). There, he is conducting his PhD research on the impacts of anthropogenic defaunation on pollination and seed dispersal.
