FPU predoctoral researcher at the Institute of Natural Products and Agrobiology (IPNA-CSIC). She received her first FPI predoctoral contract from the Government of the Canary Islands, co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus. She has been part of the Social Sciences, Heritage and Food group (IPNA-CSIC) since 2023, an institution where she has carried out a research stay and has participated in ethnographic research on the historical memory of Buenavista del Norte. She has worked on the project “Ordinary Memories” (2022-2023) from the Cultural Association Periferia Creativa Acciones Culturales, subsidized by the Canary Islands Institute of Cultural Development (ICDC) and the Cabildo of Tenerife. She has also worked as an anthropologist hired by the UCM in the II Edition Rural Campus Program, to carry out ethnographic work in rural towns in Guadalajara (Spain). Within this framework, she created a series of social maps and social revitalization workshops in these rural communities.
Her line of research is related to rural studies and agroecology from the perspective of political ecology, with a critical vision of heritage and taking into account the gender perspective. Her academic background makes Cristina especially interested in how power relations are projected, as well as the production of subjectivities in these situations of inequality. She is currently developing her doctoral thesis, precisely, on extensive livestock farming and the socio-productive and cultural processes of pastoralism in the agroecological transition.
