Victoria Sinka is a postdoctoral researcher in the “Natural Products Library of Tenerife” project, led by Dr. Juan Ignacio Padrón Peña.
Synthetic methodology, synthesis of natural products, discovery of small molecules with possible biological/pharmaceutical activity, isolation and identification of natural products in plants.
- PhD in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering by the University of La Laguna (2022).
- Msc in Chemistry. University of de La Laguna (2016).
- BsC in Chemistry by the University of La Laguna (2015).
Victoria Sinka graduated in Chemistry in 2015 and then obtained a Master's degree in Chemistry in 2016, both from the University of La Laguna. She subsequently obtained her PhD in 2022 in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering from the University of La Laguna working on the synthesis of different sized heterocycles using sustainable catalysis with iron salts, under the supervision of Dr. Juan Ignacio Padrón Peña.
From 2022, she began her postdoctoral period, working in the group of Dr. Juan Ignacio Padrón Peña in different research lines, including the development of new methodologies for the synthesis of medium-sized heterocycles and their application to the synthesis of natural products, as well as the supervision of extraction and purification of ciguatoxins in fish.
Currently, she is working as a postdoctoral researcher on the “Natural Products Library of Tenerife” project for the isolation and structural determination of compounds from terrestrial or marine plant samples.
