Rayco H.P. Schmeller is a postdoctoral researcher in the project “AGROSINTAC: Organic Synthesis in Academic and Applied Agrochemistry” for which Dr. Antonio Jesús Herrera González is responsible.
Isolation and hydrolysis of proteins from biostabilized organic wastes. Design and execution of chemical modifications of protein, peptide and amino acid hydrolysates. Synthesis and characterization of amino acid derivative patterns for HPLC-MS-MS analysis. Preparation of plant extracts for metabolomic analysis by HPLC-MS-MS and NMR. Design and synthesis of fluorescent elicitor probes.

Rayco H.P. Schmeller graduated in Chemistry in 2015, followed by a Master's degree in Chemistry in 2016, both from the University of La Laguna. Subsequently, he received his PhD in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering in 2021 from the University of La Laguna working on the synthesis of benzocyclotrimers and heterocycles employing metal catalysis, under the supervision of Dr. Víctor Sotero Martín García.
That same year, she started her postdoctoral period, working in the company Ferimark Ecobertura on the synthesis of pheromones and para-pheromones. His work consisted in the development of new synthetic methodologies for natural products on a semi-industrial scale.
In 2024 and until now, he is working as a postdoctoral researcher in the project “AGROSINTAC”, in organic synthesis in academic and applied agrochemistry.
